Imagine CAD competitions, gauntlet style. Stop imagining. Letβs make it happen.
Four challenges. Four weeks. One dream. Introducing MakerCAD β the first community-driven CAD competition. No team quotas, no university gatekeeping. Just pure, creative CAD β open to anyone, anywhere.
Whether you're a student, hobbyist, or professional, MakerCAD gives you a chance to flex your design skills across unique challenge tracks like Contour (aesthetics), Struct (architecture), Auto (mechanical systems), and Sustainability (impactful design). It's fast-paced, creativity-driven, and engineered for the kind of innovation that doesnβt need a machine shop to shine.
Unlike traditional engineering competitions that require months of prep, heavy materials, or insider access, MakerCAD is agile, accessible, and recurring β with new challenges rotating every season. Whether you're just starting out or ready to push the limits of FeatureScript, MakerCAD gives you a fresh, unique perspective on CAD competitions.
MakerCAD is that sweet spot where creativity, mechanics, and community come together. Itβs not going to be a one-time event, itβs inclusive, and itβs way more fun than being told to "design a bridge" for the fifth time. Let's knead, extrude, and bake something brilliant.
Each MakerCAD event features 4 unique challenges, released over 4 weeks β one per week. A theme or industry focus for each challenge is announced one week in advance to give you time to plan and prepare. The submission deadline for all challenges is the end of the MakerCAD competition. All submissions are made directly through the MakerCAD Discord.
Whether youβre a beginner or a seasoned designer, every challenge is crafted to be accessible but rigorous, pushing your skills while rewarding best CAD practices. Donβt worry if youβre new β youβll learn fast, and youβre always welcome to compete. Additionally, there will be 2 leagues β one aimed to serve beginners, intermediates, hobbyists, high school students, and undergrads, and one reserved for advanced CADers, grad students and industry professionals looking to have fun.
You can specialize and aim to win individual challenges, but to take a full event victory, you'll need to show you can master all aspects of CAD. Ranking points (listed on each challenge page) determine overall standings.
